    SVST Dolphins – Practice Starts Tomorrow!

    Hi SVST Dolphin Families,

    Swim practice kicks off today, Tuesday, April 28th and we’re excited to get the season started! Here are a few important things to know:


    🐬 Registration Update

    Due to increased demand this season, registration is now closed to Spring Valley non-members.
    If you are a Spring Valley resident still hoping to join, please email [email protected].


    🕒 Practice Schedule

    Practice times can always be found in SwimTopia under Schedule → Practice.
    For now, our practice groups are:

    • 6 & Under: 4:45 – 5:30 PM
    • 7 & 8: 5:30 – 6:15 PM
    • 9 & Up: 6:15 – 7:15 PM

    🎒 What to Bring to Practice

    Please label all items with your swimmer’s name.

    • Swimsuit
      (Any suit is fine for practice. Team suits for meets will be sold by Texas Swim Shops at the DADS Club Pool on May 15 during Time Trials.)
    • Goggles – whatever fits comfortably and keeps water out
    • Swim Cap (optional but recommended)
    • Equipment:

      • Fins
      • Kickboard
      • Mesh bag (to keep everything together)
        (Texas Swim Shops is a great resource if you need help with sizing.)
    • Water bottle
    • Towel

    👉 Arrive in your swimsuit with sunscreen already applied


    👋 First Practice Expectations

    • Coach James and Coach Richie are excited to welcome both returning and new swimmers!
    • Our focus: learning, having fun, and staying safe
    • On Tuesday (4/28), we’ll start practice with a brief swimmer welcome followed by a short parent orientation for anyone who missed the Zoom session

    Key action items:

    ✔️ Purchase your swimmer’s equipment

    ✔️ Become a Family Sponsor and help secure community Corporate Sponsorships (by May 5) - see sponsor section on the website & attachment

    ✔️ Complete the merchandise order form (by May 5):

    • Each swimmer receives a free team t-shirt (form required for sizing)
    • Parent shirts, hats, yard signs, and more are available for purchase

    ✔️ Declare for swim meets in SwimTopia (see slideshow for instructions)

    • Volunteer sign-ups will begin opening later this week

    We can’t wait to see everyone back on deck and kick off another fun Dolphin season!
